Software Engineer - Adtech Print

The successful candidate will be part of the ADTECH Development team working on technology that will serve as the foundation for the ADTECH product suite well into the future. The ADTECH Development group creates platforms and applications that enable web publishers to manage, serve and evaluate virtually any kind of online advertising campaign including display, video and mobile formats.

The candidate must be skilled at all levels of web development and be very familiar with Java, MVC and Apache/Tomcat. Knowledge of EJB and JBoss as well as experience with developing Web Services and Service Oriented Architecture would be a bonus. Knowledge of C++ and also database technology such as Oracle, MySQL etc. would be highly desirable. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and be a team player.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the implementation of enterprise software to stated business and technical goals
  • Creates and/or maintains robust, scalable, operable software solutions
  • Designs and develops SOA solutions
  • Creates and/or maintains design documentation so as to enable team participation
  • Helps in effectively decomposing feature implementation into associated tasks for planning & tracking purposes as part of a delivery team
  • Assists in assessing project risks associated with development activities
  • Communicates effectively in both verbal (day-to-day discussions, team meetings) and written forms (requirements and design specifications) with local and remote team members
  • Looks for areas of innovation in projects
  • Performs various duties that advance the capabilities of the engineering team:
  • Stays abreast of emerging technologies and trends, particularly as they apply to the online advertising industry, the internet and rapid software development
  • Actively contributes with idea sharing, brainstorming sessions, etc. so as to contribute creatively - not just through execution
  • Effectively manages multiple priorities

Skills

  • Demonstrated engineering skills associated with a Software Engineer role on software development projects
  • Demonstrated experience of design and implementation of Web Services
  • Sound understanding of Object Oriented Analysis & Design principles, and service oriented architecture.
  • Specific technical skills sought
  • Programming skills: Java, C++, EJB, JavaScript, HTML, XML, XSLT
  • Frameworks: J2EE, Struts, Hibernate, JAX-WS
  • Operating systems: Linux, Windows
  • Databases: MySQL, Oracle
  • Other: Apache/Tomcat, JBoss
  • Development environment: Eclipse
  • Display a history of creativity, innovative thought, awareness of current technical trends and high levels of motivation
  • Excellent ability to understand and express complex topics
  • Excellent English communications skills

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, AND
  • 1-2 years of experience in software development, OR
  • Relevant combination of education and experience.
