The Software Engineer will be a member of AOL Advertising Technology team responsible for Self-Service, Client-facing products with an initial focus on Ad Desk. Ad Desk is an existing product that enables our clients and Sales teams to create and manage online Advertising Campaigns and other activities to support our online Advertising business. This engineer will work as part of a team that develops a completely new Ad Desk product based on an ExtJS/Java stack.

Responsibilities
Implementation of software to stated business and technical goals
Create and/or maintain ExtJS/Java based applications and web services
Maintain a solid understanding of developing client facing applications
Deliver creativity and innovation in projects
Assist in analysing feature implementation into associated tasks for planning & tracking purposes as part of a delivery team
Communicate effectively in both verbal (day-to-day discussions, team meetings) and written forms (requirements and design specifications) with local and remote team members
Create and/or maintain appropriate design artifacts and documentation to enable broad team participation
Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent understanding of Object Oriented Analysis & Design principles
Flexibility in project tasks
Experience of building web applications using Java
Knowledge of enterprise application frameworks such as Spring and Java EE
Recent database experience in at least one of the following: Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server or MySQL
Knowledge of ORMs such as iBatis or Hibernate
Solid experience with client side technologies such as ExtJS, Javascript, jQuery, CSS and HTML.
Thorough approach to uniting testing and related technologies.
Experience in working within an Agile development environment
Excellent ability to understand and express complex topics
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Display a history of creativity, innovative thought, awareness of current technical trends and high levels of motivation
Education / Experience
Master's (preferred) or Bachelor's degree in a Technical Discipline (CS, EE, Math, Physics, etc.)
AND Minimum of 4 - 6 years of experience in software development,
OR Relevant combination of education and experience.
