We are seeking a Software Test Automation Engineer for a high volume, high availability web portal with global reach, requiring both front-end and back-end experience, and proven ability in test automation tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develops test automation strategy for publishing platforms and web applications for AOL Media Technology
• Writes test automation code and builds test automation suites
• Executes automated test suites and interprets results for the rest of the team
• Works closely with product managers, development and operations teams to ensure successful implementation and deployment of publishing platforms, analysis tools and web applications
• Stays abreast of emerging technologies and trends, particularly as they apply to the online publishing industry, the internet and rapid software development
• Actively participates in an Agile development environment

Skills

• Experience in the automation of testing front-end web applications (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, XML)
• Experience in the automation of testing back-end web systems (Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, REST Web services)
• Experience with test automation tools, particularly JMeter and Selenium
• Working knowledge of Java programming language
• Working knowledge of a scripting language (e.g. Perl, Python, shell scripting)
• Ability to troubleshoot issues across browsers (e.g. JavaScript, jQuery, CSS)
• Knowledge of web site and web server optimisation and performance tuning techniques
• History of creativity, innovative thought, awareness of current technical trends and high levels of performance and motivation
• Knowledge of continuous integration and build an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Education / Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, AND
• 2-4 years' experience in software development preferably in software test automation, OR
• Relevant combination of education and experience.
